Free Session for Friends

Learning to love to run, walk, or move and craving it everyday is a gift that keeps on giving! This free session is a special offer for friends and friends of friends to test your groove. “Groove” is the feeling of pleasure from wanting to move the body to music. Music enhances enjoyment, improves performance, and makes movement feel easier.

Benefits of Daily Movement/Walking/Running

You don’t need to run everyday, but being mindful of daily movement and steps can have a lot of benefits:

  • Reduced risks for heart and lung disease, diabetes, arthritis, dementia, and many cancers

about “lady southpaw”

“Lady Southpaw” is a nickname from a boxing class that I attached to my music. You can call me Erin (Sholl-Molloy).

I am a certified running coach through Road Runner’s Club of America (RRCA.) I’ve been NASM and ACE certified as a personal trainer and group fitness instructor. My degree is in theatre education with a lot of emphasis on creative movement in the classroom and physical theatre trainings (with the SITI Company and the Grotowski Workcenter most notably). Then, I got so into my training for the NYC Marathon, I wrote an entire (fictionalized and set in 70’s CBGB/early punk era New York) concept album about the race called, Marathoners Rocking New York.

My work was included in Christopher McDougall’s Born to Run 2: The Ultimate Training Guide in the chapter called, “Running with Music.” Along with that, I wrote a song to go with the book called, “I Was Born To Run Too.”

If you’re not into running, I get it. Running can be hard. We can focus on walking and some music synchronized creative movement and conditioning exercises. You don’t have to “go running” unless you want to.
